So Im adding a switch panel in, I have a switch that will control my injection pump (no more 30amps i think) and need a relay would be good for that. Also Id like the relay to turn on when getting 12v, instead getting a ground. Any ideas of a GOOD relay I can get at the parts store?

Next time your in a junkyard, grab on Omron relays. They are excellent quality and very abundant on almost any late ninties-present GM vehicle. *tisk* on me, I usally grab some on my way out throwing them into my toolbox, but only if I'm buying some part. :) The full size versions last longer than the newer 'mini' style, but still way better than those cheapy auto store ones.

i have no idea what they look like. what runs off of them? wouldnt happen to have a picture so i grab the right one?

They come in many, many varieties as far as wiring, you need to know what you want. 4 wire, 5 wire, negative trigger, positive trigger.
They are grey and black. Grab a 98-2006 Bonnevilles/olds 98 whole relay center mounted on the firewall above the engine ,center. A yard usally won't charge more than $5/10 for it. It will contain a variety of relays. Cut the main harnesses leading to them. All their diagrams are printed on the top. Most are positive trigger relays.

Ok thanks alot! But im not sure I have time to run out to the yard, do you or anyone else know of which one I could just pick up at the dealership? I just need one that can handle up to 30amps for my injection pump (one 10 gauge wire) and a positive trigger?

I just finished doing something similar...

I ordered the relay and a pannel with individual fuses for each connection online from here...

You can wire the relay up so it comes on with the ignition...

Pin 30 has constant power straight from the battery...

Pin 85 has a good solid ground (I ran mine all the way back to the battery)...

Pin 86 is your "fire-wire"... a wire going from the prong on the factory fuse pannel that gets switched on with the ignition...

Then the final pin (87) are lead(s) that you can run to a pannel or to a particular item (such as your injection pump)... I say lead(s) because some relay's have two "87" prongs so you can wire two things off of it but they both work... if you're going to just use one make sure you insulate the other.
