which selectable locker

[ QUOTE ]

Since I don't selectable lockers I guess this means I should save 4wd--or twin stick and only run front wheel drive. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

[off-topic]Who said anything about saving 4wd? You think that someone with a doubler is going to use their super low gear 24/7 when off road? /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

In my mind, the advantage of a selectable locker up front is that you can still use 4WD on slippery roads. Off-road, there are few really tight corners that require so much traction you can't unlock a hub or shift to 2WD. That is where the convenience comes in.

My vote is for the ARB. I really think they are the best choice for a front locker. I have not heard anything about them lately.
Do a bunch of research on the Detroit Electrac before buying one. The early models had some problems. I installed one of the early ones and was impressed and unimpressed at the same time. The cover is beefy but the shift fork was a little on the unimpressive side for me.

ARBs don't have problems with good maint. and upkeep. The problems I have seen have all had to do with an electrical failure not air or seals. The one compressor that I saw go down gave lots of warning and it just didn't get replaced. It is easy to use an outside air source to lock the ARB and then not unlock it if something should happen.
