thank you. it feels good to know someone likes your truck other than you. i like the little chrome accent pieces but nothing to much. i want the DPI front rear(with tire carrier) and rock guards which i will linex but right now no money so im content for now. or till i get money

I voted for the 4 inch lift. Rides better for the kids. But also because that is what I want to do for my 89 k5. Trim it up if you have to.

love my TC ez-rides. good price and really nice ride quality i think.

superlift has a nice scratch and dent program to get stuff cheap if you can find what you want but customer service sucked in my experience.

Thanks for the advice. Does anybody have a favorite brand of lift kit, or do you have one that I should avoid?
tc ezrides seem to ride real nice in the rigs ive been in.mine has ruff country fronts that ride a lil stiff but flex pretty good.it keeps me from bitin the sheetmetal too bad though.i have procomp rears that flex like crazy and ride pretty nice too.both 4 inch.the pro comps were 380 and i cant remember what i payed for the fronts.i had lift blocks that broke which required either a replacement blocks or spring lift.i didnt want to have the same thing happen again.if you buy the tc ez ride complete kit,it comes with the sterring corrections and u bolts.full kit will also come with 4 shocks the correct length in usually mid grade performance.

You can't go wrong with Tuff Country or BDS

X2. I had Superlifts on my 1st K5. I thought they rode ok but didn't like how quick they sagged within the first year. My TC's on the front now are starting to sag but they have been on for over 6 years.

They ride great. Flex isn't the best and if your after flex then do a flip. I could probably get more out of them by flipping the overload and opening the clamps up.

I've been debating whether to go springs or flip for my 'burb.. won't be a wheeler. I've got a 2.5" ORD flip right now, plus DIY4x 6" shackles and ez inches to level it out if needed. Going to use TC 3" springs on the front.

Another vote for some 4" Tuff country EZ rides and a rear shackle flip! I've got 3" front TC EZ springs and a rear flip (plus 1 tons so, about another inch there for a total of about 4" lift) and run 37x12.50's with not a whole lot of trimming and strategically placed bumpstops and don't rub at all! I would definitely agree that wheel width and backspacing will play important factors though! (I have factory H2 rims so, (IIRC) 8.5" width and 5.5" backspacing?). So, maybe some 35x12.50 R15's on 15x8" rims with 4.5" backspacing might work well on yours with 4" lift? I know somebody here must know exactly, I'm just guessing!

I was also thinking about going with TC, but how well will the EZ rides do with a 454? I know rough country's cheap, and they include shocks.

lifts

Yeah I am thinking about using rough country because they are cheap and they include shocks. Some of these companies are expensive and then you have to buy everything separate.

I have 2 lifted blazers. Both have 4 in rough country springs in the front and I love them. The best thing you can do to make them ride smooth is put longer shackles on them. This gives the spring more room to lengthen out. One of my trucks has just the 4 in springs and I've got 35 x 15 swampers on 15 x 10's and i have only had to do minor trimming

i completely forgot.i have 2 inch longer shackles on the front springs.it rides a lil better and flexes a lil more consistently.6 degree shim to bring the axle back to the right angle for driveshaft.i have a 14 bolt rear so the lift shackles brought the front end equal with the rear 4 inch.since the tube is an inch bigger than my original 12 bolt axle.a zero rate with a stock axle will do the same in the rear if you are not going to swap axles.

Lift

So I could go with the 4 inch lift, even if I'm gonna use my old tires 35x12.50x10. I SHOULD get a shackle flip to add to this mix so the 35's would clear.......... sounds:eek1: simple.....
