I was planning on going with a 4inch shackle flip in the rear with 4 inch tuff country HD springs in the front for my m1008, BUT when i first got the truck i realized 1 tons sit much higher than my k5 did. Add on the 33 inch muds and i almost need to pull my groin out to get in the truck, my gf has enough of a time too haha. Also i was telling my friend my plans but he thought it may be too high and it may make the tires look small or show too much space in the wells. Im not going bigger than 33 inches on the tires, i want the truck to look stockish, just a bit meaner, not some offroading beast. What do you think? And if i do go 2.5 inches in the rear, what do i do for the front, i only see 2 3 or 4 inches, does tuff country have 2.5 inch springs for the front? thanks

i said 4 and go with 36s haha...you could do 2.5 in the back and a longer shackle and 2 inch springs. im not sure what you have now. you might need to save and get the 6.2 fixed!!!:D:D

heh im hoping i didnt do anything to it, 2.5 in the back and 2 in the front? wont that make the front lower?

Superlift offers 2.5" front springs in ez ride and hd, I can't tell you how well they ride but they do offer them.:D

Heck, I'd even go 6".

Shackle flip + 2" lift springs for the rear and 6" springs for the front.

Dont forget the Zero rate for the back to reposition the axle back in the stock spot.

zero rate or shims? i guess if i do go 4 inch and the tires look small i can upgrade to 35s, im not cutting though haha

haha yeah, already got the one tons! but im putting money into body work first, im stopping the rust where it is and getting it repainted, camo still but new paint. Then ill go with the lift and see how she looks

I voted for a 4" lift because the 4:56s would be much happier with a bigger tire. 35s are ok, 37s would be even better. Might have to make a removable step of some sort to get in to your truck for DDing by the sounds of it.

It's a cucv thats been painted with camouflage paint, why do you not want to cut the fenders?

because this cucv is mostly going to be a restoration. I mean im gonna wheel it lightly but its getting new paint and news to be intact

I'd leave it alone, looks good without the lift. Save up for the other stuff

After reading more about what you are after and your primary concerns, I agree with the above statement. 33s look good on a stock 1 ton and no lift is necessary unless you are using some highly offset wheels. I put 35s on mine stock with some slightly offset wheels and ran it in the summer. It did require some trimming. 33s should be Ok. They have 32s on them stock, just skinny 32s. Good luck with the build.

thanks. Yeah i guess ill see, i was originally planning on 4 because i didnt expect the 1 tons to be this tall haha

okay so 2.5 inch. shackle flip in the rear, where do i get the longer shackle for the front? Does it bolt on like the rear shackle flip? i cant do fab..

I would get new springs for the front.. longer shackles mess with with your pinion and caster angle, while the former isn't a problem for 2wd street duties, the latter is.

Besides that, my stiff Rancho springs ride better than my worn out stockers. 2" Tuff Country E-Z rides in the front and you'd be set. I'd round the set out with ORD's HD Shackles with greasable bushings. Their shackle is about 1/2" longer than stock(almost no difference in suspension height), but it keeps it from hitting the frame as much and they are stout. Besides, greasable is nice :D
