So my K5 project is a go once again. I will be installing a 327 into it shortly, and figure while i'm there I may as well put a shift kit into my 700R4. I want to get a B&M one, but am wondering if you guys think I should put in the Stage 1 Heavy Duty/Towing or the Stage 2 Street/Strip? I'm leaning towards the stage 2, but what are your guys experience with this?

Okay why? Almost everyone i've talked to says to go with stage 2. On the B&M site it says stage 1 is for high hp, lightweight vehicles, where as stage 2 is for heavier beasts.. like my k5 haha

Get a transgo kit, much superior to B&M. I run a stage 2 in my street/strip car and would go no less if doing it again. For a truck its a tough call. The stage 2 will be harder shifts and at slightly higher rpms.

x2 on Transgo.

In my experience, the 700's really get help from the Corvette servo. I think I might try that "mod" before I did anything else to be honest. Friend just picked up a '91 burb with 4L60 (700R4) and with just that mod it firmed up nicely, without being harsh.
