i have a 73 crewcab single rear wheel pickup. it is now 2wd and i am converting it to 4x4 along with a complete resto. my question is which t case to use? a 205, 203 or 208? keep in mind this not a trail rig, only dirt it will see is when i tow my toys to the dunes. it will be pretty much a street truck used for towing race car trailer. i know a 205 is the ultimate in strenth etc, but are pretty pricey, so between a 203 and 208 i think is the question really. i have a 203 in my k5 with a part time kit in it, have never had a single issue with it no matter how badly i abuse the drivetrain, but i have no experiance with a 208. so what do you guys think?

I'd run the 208 between the two. Decent low range, good strength, tons around so parts are plentiful, light weight, and last pretty well. Just make sure to put a skidplate under it just in case you ever get a bit froggy with it.

I like em in this order: 205, 208/241, 203. The 205 may be more than you need so the 208/241 is probably the best route

400 i see them around for not much try randy's offroad in azusa hes got some used stuff lying around or knows where to get it.
there is a greenish blue crew cab that rolls glamis on 44 with a shortened down bed. It was a 2x converted with a 205 devorced equal length drive shafts it was up for sale for 10 grand. I can point you to him and the build if need be.

sure post the link to the build.

i already have the front axle, steering box, and the brackets and stuff im gonna use off my k5 since im 3 linking that in the front. another option is i could find a 205 and put that in my k5 and use the 203 from it in my crewcab.
