Hey guys, trying to choose the right tire for my rig.

I will be buying 315/75r16s for my '84 blazer with 4 inch lift. I will use it mostly for snow wheeling and playing around in the high cascades on some lava rock and dirt in the summer. I have a winch and don't really want to run a strictly mud tire as I want something that will last me a while and have good road manners.

I am stuck between getting BFG All Terrains, Nitto Terra Grapplers, or the most aggressive choice Kelly TSR Safaris. I have also thought about getting some Blem Pro Comp Mud Terrains from 4 Wheel Parts.

What tire is going to give me the most bang for my buck? Don't plan on playing in to many mudholes any more but sometimes they are tempting so which tire do you guys think would work the best for the occasional puddle jump.

made in America too......these or Goodyear

Yea, never personally owned MT/Rs but my friends who have run them on full sizes are not getting great mileage out of them... Are they just abusing the hell out of them?

MTRs are a good choice but may be too agressive for your needs.

Check out the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrak (sp?). More of an all terrain tread design but with a good outer edge lug design (for mud traction) along with sidewall tread (for aired down traction), not typically found on ATs, and alot of siping in the tread which is good for snow traction, particularly hard pack snow covered roads.

The Terra grapplers are crap I had a set and they suck in the rain and I almost got stuck in a feild that was wet not muddy. I do like my new tires dick cepeks they are wearing nice and have good road manners.

I had an older style Goodyear MT/R tire at one time on the Burb, i thought they did perform alittle better than the BFG A/T's on the dirt trails i ran, but on the highway they were noisy and you could feel the vibrations from the tire lugs when rolling. I went back with the BFG A/T's. work fine for my needs now. :D

I run BFG MT's on my rig and it is also my DD and I get 50K-55K out of them and they are not noisy either. They work great offroad as well as on road. It would be a VERY HARD sell to get me to go with anything else after having the luck i've had with BFG's.

not a big fan of the BFG A/Ts myself, ive had experiences where they do not last very long at all. the bfg m/ts on the other hand have lasted me a lot longer and are a better tread over all I believe. not too noisy either

I learned from experience that the BFG A/T's do not like to clean themselves of mud at all.

I would go with bfg a/ts. I have them on my 07 and have been very impressed with them, especially on snow and ice. I have bfg km2s on my k5, and like them, but they are very loud on the highway. The mud terrains are good in deep snow (and mud of course), but horrible on ice, and not great on wet pavement. The mud terrains also don't seem to stay balanced that well.
