Which trans should i get?

Wondering what you guys think. I can get a reman th350 w/torque conv. included off of ebay for about $675.00. Monster Transmission has a hd reman for around $1100.00 w/ tc. Im planning on doing a complete rebuild including a crate engine at around 290hp/330tq since i already have the trans, tcase, etc already off.

My opinion is find someone local and someone that local racers use and recommend. What good is a trans guy who is across the country? I would find someone local, who returns calls promptly and stands behind their work and your hard earned cash.

a GOOD t-350 with upgrades and a ultra bell can fetch the higher price of the two and more.


My new trans guy answers his phone nights and weekends, has service and communication that is right on part with my list of favorite vendors below.

How much for the motor are you spending just curious?

Around these parts i can get a bullet proof (as much as one can have) TH350 with convertor from a local shop rebuilt to "your specs" for $800.00. I totally agree that you need to shop locally and do not buy over the internet. As was said, a reputable local rebuilder is your best bet.

i live in a pretty rural area and there arent many places to choose from (as in 1) i guess i could order a rebuild kit that i wanted and take it to them to have installed, the motor im getting is from jegs gm performance 350 package $2500.00, i owned my first k5 at 15 and sold it, now at 26 ive bought another and with my business doing well (ahemmm) i want to really go all out as i will keep it for the rest of my days so i just want to go with something that will last a while
