I can't figure out which truck to build, I need your guys help.:doah:

First candidate is ole blue, I love this truck to death. My dream plans are ord's coil setup running on 35's with a LS 6.0 engine back by a 6l90e tranny. Id also like a the d60/14b combo for axles.

Candidate number 2

My new daily driver, the 09 silverado.

Id like to run a mild suspension kit to go fast in the desert.
Upper control arm and uniball another referance to the control arm and uniball the coil over shocks

Go number 1. The new one is too nice to do anything to - for now.

Build a wheeler outa the old one

If I were to build it, It would be like a show rig/tow rig and wouldn't want to beat the piss out of it. Although It would see dirt, snow and stuff like that. I have sentimental feelings with it.

personally im always for keeping a nice truck nice, so my vote is for the 09

yes this makes zero sense:D

being the 09 is black it wont hide much desert pinstripes... so  unless you dont mind it looking nice now and trashed after a few trips i vote to leave it alone.

I say go for the dream build on the old one, sounds like it could turn out really cool. Leave the 09 alone and just drive it, that's my $.02 at least:D

I'd do '82 and just run 3/4 tons(yeah I know :doah:), but if your not going to thrash it a d44 or 10blt will hold up fine to 35s and be cheaper.

hmm ya your right, I would go with one or the other. I originally wanted a D60 but the more and more I thought about it, it would be a waste.

i vote the 82'. more parts availabe, cheaper, and easier to work on. plus a more of a show truck/ minor play truck won't hurt the wallet to bad if you tag a tree or somethin in the 82'.

What everyone else has said. Build the old truck and don't touch the new one. Okay, maybe put some manly tires and rims on it.

All the measurements were taken on the right frame rail, in front of the front crossmember and behind the bumper W/ fancy digital calipers

Thanks! Tomorrow if I can remember I'm going to try and find mine and measure it.
