Which water pump?

Just make sure to get the correct rotation. V belt is standard. Serpentine is reverse.

There’s a short water mount and a long one. Need to match the accessories for the motor. I think the long one is more common in later models?
Or switch to serpentine belt now and pick up a 90s sbc water pump.
Most GM trucks used the short pump until 1972...cars had the longer one starting around 1969-70...
I recall there being two versions of the long pump in the mid 70's also,the rebuilt ones used to come with a spacer for the P/S bracket so they could use one part number to fit both types..
