I had a Warn M12000 and was not impressed with it, after the third of fourth time I had to replace solinoids I went and got abig old slow worm gear Ramsey RE12000 and have loved it ever since it pulled my frame out of alignment

I sure see a lot of post about warn solenoids frying. I guess that is an inherent problem with them...

what do you guys think of the MileMarker winches? they're a lot cheaper. what winch should I get for my 4-5K Toyota?

You nailed it. They are CHEAP!!! They ship those things over by the container full straight from China and sell them for nothing. If you're going MileMarker you better buy two, because you will need a trail spare... :eek1:

Get you a Ramsey 8.5e and don't look back.

Daniel, thanks for the input AND the link!

I think I've pretty much made my decision. :D
Looks like I've got to work out the logistics...

Run as fast as you can from the mile marker crap and never look back. I have the 12'000 Mile marker and it is crap. I replaced it with the 8274-50:bow:

9.5ti is fast, has more pulling power on any of the wraps than ramsy and mile marker. uses less amps too if i remember right. also dont tow trucks use hydrolic winches not electric. so were comparing green apples to red ones....:D -chris

There are a ton of wreckers using electric winches. Here's and here links to a wide variety of electric winches that are available for the towing and recovery industry.

e-winches.com had nice prices a while ago...

also I have max 468amp draw... on 3/0 wire

I can run my truck... yes running... and both 1000ca batteries will die before I get the entire cable in WITHOUT A LOAD!!! due to my crappy 63 amp alt... I am going to upgrade after my motor mods...

plus I just got 2 tractor trailer batteries!!! bishes r huge...

19" wide x 28" long x 9" high... EACH!!!!:haha:

got my 9.5ti for $868 shipped. also warn is having a price increase real soon if they havent already. one yellow top does the trick even if night and u have the KC's on.... good winch. -chris
