Like I said, you'll be glad to have a winch that may seem like overkill now when you're stuck in some nasty mud up to the bottom of the doors and your truck is actually weighing about 15,000 lbs. due to all the muck.
Also you may have to pull out someone in a vehicle that's heavier than yours. I tried to winch a guy in a K3500 dually out of some mud with my crappy little Superwinch LP8500 and he wouldn't even budge. I think my winch stalled out after I had to chain my truck to a tree because I was just pulling myself to the stuck truck.
