Which would drive better, 33x12.50 or 33x10.50?

I always think the narrow tire will, compared to a wider one.

15 or 16 in that size probably wont matter.

What vehicle you asking for?

My k20 is what im using as an example. Its going to be tire time at some point and its going to be between 255/85-16 and a 285/75-16. Mostly want it to drive nice down the highway.

generally from my experiance a narrower tire is better ,actually i think the 10.50 is the ideal tire width for our trucks that see alot of on road miles

255/85/16 is way better than a 285/75/16 on my Duramax. :thumb:

I had two sets of 285`s Both toyo m55`s and now 255`s toyo m55`s
Won`t go back to 285`s.

I think a taller sidewall will ride slightly better, but handle slightly worse.
I think a narrower tread will drive slightly better, but handle slightly worse.

I put 200k on 255/85's on my diesel. Love them. Great dd size. Tall enough to cut some rpm on a low geared truck. Not so wide that the side of the truck gets dirty all the time. I wish more companys offered them.
Never had a tracking issue. 6000lb trucks normally don't anyway.

Would be nice to know the width of the wheel you're using also as that will play into the equation.

Do you feel like it tracks straighter? Like it grabs the ruts less?

Yes defenatly! mine are on 6.5 factory PYO`s

That is more than likely why I like the 255`s better than 285`s,because of the narrow rim. On 8`s I think the 285`s would be good, but I like the tall skinny look for my truck.

I doubt you could tell much difference, if any, between the two sizes. The 255's look great on a stock steel wheel with fresh white paint and white letters out on the tires, IMHO.
