What year did they start putting in the heavier front crossmembers? was is just the engine crossmember? or the front one that holds the brake proportioning valve?

Which year crossmember is better?

I believe the changeover year was 1985, but not certain. Easy to tell since it has extra pieces on it in the corners compared to earlier. Just the engine crossmember, the one the balancer (on a SBC) is right above.
