Which years are compatible to 89 k5

Like the title states:
I'm looking for the models/years that are compatible to swap steering columns and dash pads?

I've found this once before and like the dumb@$$ I am I forgot to bookmark it. So I've spent 3 hours searching for the info this morning.

I'm pretty sure all columns from 73+ will swap although the electronics may differ. As for the dash pads, 81+ interiors will be essentially the same and interchangable.

Agreed. Do it by looks, if its a solid axle style GM truck, and it looks like it will swap, those items (dash/column) will fit.

for the column I believe you will want 81 or newer. I think 80 and down had the wipers on the dash not the column if Im not mistaken.

Could even have been as early as 84 I guess. I know my 83 doesn't have the column wipers. Thought 86 was the changover year...

Yeah, my '82 has them on the dash.

the correct answer is 83 should have it on the column, 82 was supposed to be the last year, you might of had a very early 83 if its on the dash. 83 had alot of stuff changed, especially on diesel trucks.
