Is there anything I should be doing while the tranny is out?

real main seal? Anything else? the t-case/drive shafts and tranny are out already...

does it have the 5th gear upgrade? I forget what it is in those transmissions, there is some weak point in 5th gear that a lot of people upgrade.

your talking about the 5th gear nut looseing up- that from what I recall was a Dodge only issue - but now seems to be related to my truck as well.

Ahh well, what can you do. i dont think my 6.2NA is gonna put out quite that much power. :)

well the only last thing to do then is ship it to me.... 08094 and I will be deal with it showing up at my door :haha:

wish I had one of dem!!! OVerdrive would be soo cool

It's just a bad design in the 4500. Read this, pretty good info on what the deal is... NV4500 5th gear info

yeah, the whole presseed on 5th- terrible, for such a tough tranny. (guess it was an afterthought)

Anyways, the shop says that it looks like the clutch exploded. Im gonna go take a looka t it now.

Full clutch kit includes pressure plate, pilot bearing and throwout bearing

also got a new fork, a new pilot rod for the fork, and the new ends for the fork.

While the tranny is out, im also replacing the rear main seal, and also the front input shaft tcase seal. Turns out my front drive shaft joints are also toast, so two are going in as well.

Im not going to do a tranny overhaul, i didnt have any issues with it. It shifted great.
