I have an order to build whip flags and I'm having a hard time locating the mounting bolts. Mostly due to not knowing what the style or name of the bolt is. Maybe a split bolt? I'm trying to locate a source that's not a retail outlet so I can buy in bulk. I think CB antenna mounts would work? It's for 1/4" rod if that helps.

Any ideas?

Split bolts are what I'm familiar with seeing on generators. Different thing I think...searching.
Basically the "body" is just a hex section that is threaded (as on the upper one), no? Kind of like a standoff. https://apexfasteners.com/fasteners.../hex-standoffs/3-8-hex-female-female-standoff

How does the whip attach to the hex portion though? That should be the solution if they are thread in, but if they are attached another way, that won't work I'm guessing.

I'm think the hex bolt standoff would work with some epoxy and pressed in. That should be doable.

CB antenna mounts are 38/24 thread for the mounting bolt and the whip antennas have the same thread too..

You might be able to use a 1/4" "coupling nut" used to join two threaded rods together by drilling the threads on one end out and either epoxy the whip in it,or you could weld a shaft collar to it so you can use the allen head set screw to secure the whip,or just drill and tap the nut for a set screw..
Coupling nuts look like regular hex nuts but they are about an inch or more long and come in just about any size you want..
