I was checkin ebay and came across some gauge face decals that will change them to white. Thought it was kinda cool. I hate how dim the factory gauges are in my 87 and was thinking they would be cool with either blue or green dash bulbs. Anybody ever try this?? what do ya think?

This came up a few months ago and it turned out someone from here had the pattern she made and Mike (I think) from Echobit put it on his site for anyone to down load. Then ya just take it to the local sticker or sign shop and have them make them up. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif Ill see if I can find the link in a few min.

How do you get around the needles? I know you can pull the needle off but i'd be worried about getting it back on in the right place.

The needles just pull off...gently...just make a little diagram of where they were when ya started. This is a good time to spray a little new flourescent red/orange them too. I use two small flatblde screwdrivers to gently pry them off.

I started to do the overlays (I bought from ebay for $17.50 shipped). They came on Glossy Avery sticky paper that came from a home printer. They look ok and once they are on and behind the clear face plate I guess it wouldn't be noticeable. Anyhow. I couldn't get my dials off and the directions said for best effect paint the guages white then install the stickers. I wasn't really into the whole painting thing, since I was not sure it I liked them yet. One of the directions said you can't get the dials off easily to cut a slit in the bottom of the guage overlays and slide them under the dial. I didn't want the cuts in the face overlays so I scrapped the project and put my gauges back in normally.
I think if you do a search in the members area for guage stickers or overlays there is a link to the pics you print out or save.
Good luck with it

I like the ones you have. It has the heater control. Is this something I can "con" you into printing(onto sticky paper) for me??? My printer crapped out and I don't use it enough to buy another now. maybe when I ever get taxes back! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

ok guys, like the last time this came up, i know everyone likes free stuff... but for a small price chvchk will be more than happy to hook you up with some white face gauges, and if she has all things worked out right they will have sticky backing and everything. she has designs (a few) also. she is a great girl and for a few dollars will take care of you (dont use that the wrong way).
