Well, last weekend I pulled the cluster out of my 88 K5 and did the white gauge face thing from http://www.whitegauges.net
Love the way it looks (older now and hard to see the black faced ones).

I also got the white face for the A/C control panel, but I probably have a bulb out for it.

Question is: Where the heck is the bulb for the AC panel?

BTW I'll try to post pics of the whitegauge upgrade soon.

Dash cover from LMC is this weekend's project, but I gotta dye (paint) it to match. I have the cognac colored dash (I call it "almost dark brown") and ordered the vinyl paint from LRS http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/Chevy-Truck

They were the only ones I could google that had the correct vinyl paint colors (medium cognac and dark cognac) for the K5.

I just replaced mine A/C controller and looking from the back - the bulb was located in the top, left hand side. It was a twist-in type connector and then I used a new, 194 bulb.

on my 90 I just pulled the face of the AC unit out, and there is one bulb in the back on the right hand side not sure if 88 is the same. I did the same as you and got the white overlays with the led lights

Thanks guys!

I'll be looking at that this weekend. I didn't opt to go with the LED bulbs (just yet) as I wanted to see how much difference just the white faces made. I made sure all the bulbs were 168's though. They seem pretty sufficient for now.

Curious about the LED's.....are they brighter by a lot? The PO had some blue tinted bulbs so that was pretty much worthless :doah:. I couldn't see much of anything! I replaced everything with the 194 bulbs b/c the parts store said they were the brightest of the bunch. It's much better but wouldn't hurt to have it a little more bright.

Still notice a big difference going from the blazer to the 04' suburban gages. So much brighter in the newer truck....

I love this site and have used them for 3 orders. In my build thread I'm using their 194 style bulbs in my autometers. The color is "cool white" I believe. It will look different from yours, but at gives you an idea. WLED-X5 is the bulb model

my '85 AC bulbs it top right, twist

Also, not to advertise, but I've used these people before. Complete custom gauges, color, printing, logos, needles, etc.
