I'm running a 4" RC lift and 35s on my DD K10. Our trucks are notorious for barely flexing up front so I'm thinking of running without my front sway just for improved flex.

I was wondering who here runs without sways, and how much more flex up front do you get, also how is the handling?

Absolutely improves flex. Gives you more body roll when turning, but just drive it like a truck not a Camaro.

I threw mine a way, or you can get a quick disconnect kit from ORD.

I dumped mine when I lifted the truck, and she rode just fine. 4" front springs, RC's, I think. Didn't flex for crap, but that was the RC's fault.

When I went to front 52"s, the springs are much flexier ... OTOH, she nosedives in corners, but I didn't build her as a DD.

I would dump the swaybar in an instant on your setup. The ORD discos are nice -- I actually bought some -- but with stiff springs, superfluous. I ended up selling mine, brand new in the box, to a member here.

Throw the swaybar away. I bought the discos and after the second time of removing them, I removed the swaybar.

I too ditched mine when I liftd the K5. I drive some seriously winding roads and was worried about excessive body roll. But I was pleasantly surprised to notice very little difference.

Trucks never had them until later years.I don`t notice much difference, either way on the road.My`91`Burb has 4" EZ-Rides and I kept the sway bar with spacers.I notice a big diff in my shock settings(9000RSXs).My`72 K2500 Sierra had one added. It`s got stock springs and 33s.I can`t tell any difference from others I`ve had.My`72 Highlander has 6" EZ-Rides and 35s.It rides nice and stable w/o a sway bar, flexes nice.

What do you consider "later years"?

GM has used sway bars on every 73 and later truck/blazer/burb
I'm not sure about the 1st gen stuff in 4wd mode but GM used them on 2wd's since as early as 1960.

Toss it !!!! I think my 'burb actually handles BETTER on the street too !!!

I have not had a swaybar for 5+ years no problems. I have a 4" lift & 37's. I dd'ed my truck for most of those years without a swaybar. Take it off and don't look back.

Oh crap! You're totally tucking 35s w/ 6" lift! I'm gonna ahve to do some trimming when I take my sway off. What kinda springs are you using btw? What kinda exhaust tips are those too.

EVERYONE else post flex pics.

I run mine on the street, but then again, my Burb has a side to side sway/leaning problem, maybe the weight or something, i dunno,,,,

so i bought a set of the ORD swaybar disconnects, dissconnect it when wheelin, make a world of difference without it, just not very friendly on the road,,,,,for me

I've got mine still, and ORD disconnect......

In the back seat!

I was worried about getting rid of mine for a long time, so got the disconnect. Only problem with those is that you have to remember to RECONNECT. I have forgotten too reconnect so many times that I was finally convinced to toss the swaybar. I might have the disconnect in the for sale forums soon.

Ditching the sway bar is a good idea, you are getting alot of good advice. Make sure you hold onto it until you're comfortable without it.

dude i just tossed it without even thinkin about it. i think if i remember correctly they are procomp springs from the PO. they number on em is like 11211 or something, maybe somebody has a better idea of what they actually are. i had never had any good flex before so i never took a pic. after was like night and day. theyre ok on road and the exhaust tips are from pepboys i think.

OO a chance to be a pic whore!!!
