I am trying to find a couple people who have six inch BDS springs. Anyone on here running them?
Thanks

Thats a bucket of seed.
BDS and tough country are the softest springs you can get (excluding longer lengths than stock, and custom ones) But also you have to realize the more leaves you add in, it will get stiffer. So 4" BDS springs will ride better than 6".

I don't know if it will help but I have ridden in a truck with a 4" BDS front springs. They are probably the smoothes 4" lift spring that I have ridden on yet. This is for off the shelf springs of course, not custom stuff. They ride better then my 4" TC EZ Ride HD's (with 190lbs of winch and bumper).

The 4" BDS springs are even softer and smoother now that my buddy relocated his shackle location forward for a better shackle angle. Now they are really nice.

yup what they said, shawn had them in his 75 for a while "the 6 inch"

and they are pretty darn smooth:D

And you had a sway bar and how many chorme shocks???

I have BDS in my rig and love them. I had Rough country and hated them, I had a suburban with rancho and it was okay (the burb was a travel quest conversion so it was heavy). Also have pro comp (worse spring ever) on the front of our 454'd crew cab.

BDS kick azz.

I am trying to find some prices on these springs. I am getting prices from $1100 to $1800. I need to figure out what they go for down in the states. Hoping I could talk someone into letting me know what they paid.

This is not a daily driver- just to the trail and back. Used to a rough ride as my dd is a Superduty. I am basically buying the warrenty- as I am very gifted at breaking things. :D

Wow! Yeah I am getting the whole kit. Where did you buy yours at?

Noticed you were in Ellensburg... my uncle lives over in Cle Elum- (Randy Raushmier- (not spelled right) if I had to live in the states I would be looking at that area. Awesome area!

I'm also looking for 6in springs for my 85. I want to just purschase springs and I was looking at procomp, but if that are crap. I currently have 4" rough countries in the front and I dont think I can get much worse. Tuff Country just seems way over priced to me. Can you just get front and rear springs from BDS and that would be about 400 correct? Also who can you get them from. We have jack for 4wheel shops here, there is one shop and they deal rancho, or Schwab who has TC.

btw... Ellensburg kicks ass:saweet:

rear springs are more expensive the front springs. Yes, ProComps ride like a$$. I have ridden in 2 trucks with 6" ProComps. They were both very rough riding. One had a swaybar on it and it made it even worse. I would never run procomp springs on the truck.

I figured rear springs would be more. Damn things always are. I dont want to do a shackle flip, I'm going to be towing and hauling and it would be nice to have new springs. my stock springs are shot.

I have been trying to get in contact with JD's for almost three months, and can't get a reply. Too bad - have heard they have pretty good prices.

I have 6in front and 4in rearI love the ride, it rides alot better than the superlift junk that was on there when i bought it, i would evan say it rides better than my moms stock 89 blazer, I can take corners faster in my truck (6in lift no sway bar) than my moms stock 89 with a sway bar

i did a price quote for a 4" spring for a 52" eye to eye spring and got a price back of $152 . is that just one leaf spring, or a pack? just seems too cheap for rear springs.

questions about buying a lift

Few more questions about BDS kits.

What exactly is the box kit they talk about in the catalog? What is the general consensus on buying a kit over just buying the springs and getting the other pieces as necessary?

First time getting a lift kit so any advice/guidance would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

IIRC Box kit comes with bushings and u-bolts along with some other little stuff.
