Who has a Softopper?

The Softopper with tinted windows. Every picture I've seen so far has clear windows.

I didn't see an option for tinted windows. Just a rear screen, which I didn't go for. They all come with lightly tinted windows.

On their page, under Product Options, below the screen option button, is a tinted window option button.

Dark Tint adds $60.

Well,it's wasn't there a week ago when I ordered nor was it there two minutes ago when I checked back. First you get "Product Options",which offers only the screen for $59. then, you select canvas color, and that's it. Below that it says "Customers who were interested in this product were also interested in" and all it shows is the screen again. I don't know how we're seeing two different things. I tried to link the page but couldn't or just don't know how.

Took a screen shot of it. Circled the tint part.

Weird chit, man. I just went and yet again got the same thing I have been. Then I punched in Chevy Blazer, instead, and first noticed it's a different Blazer facing the opposite direction and it's offering dark tint...the page you linked. Not that it matters but that's some dumb stuff right there. They should fix that . I'm after a traditional look anyway or I'd have a beef with them. Check it out.Punch in GMC Jimmy.

Damn, their site is messed. I'm going to send them an email about it. Nice catch.

I like tinted windows. Keep the heat out.

Yeah, that's messed up. We could have argued about that and become enemies...LOL! It's kinda like when me and a friend ordered sandwiches at this bar. We both got ham & cheese, but his was on white and mine was whole wheat. When we picked up our sandwiches and took a bite he had a whole wheat and I had white. Just when we thought we had each others sandwich we put them down and they were right again. The cook made the same sandwich but they showed on the plate different. I guess he had more beers than us. We all had a good laugh over that...Hmmm,I guess it's not the same, but I got to tell my little story anyway...heh heh

Dammit! This whole time I thought I was the one drinking!
They didn't give me the option of tinted windows when I ordered mine 6 months ago.... But I thought I had seen it....:dunno:
But they're trashed already anyway from rolling them up dusty, a no window option maybe? Hmmm....
I dont like the snaps as well as the "plastic in groove thing" that bestop does for their truck/jeep tops, but otherwise I don't think the hardtop will ever go on again!:waytogo:

Does anyone have a manual for how to install the softopper?

I've got a bestop that I want to install and I'd like to see more about their mounting system to try and make one for my bestop.

Derp. I likes. Looks at least as dark as the factory tint.

I will try and get a better pic (not with a camera phone) It is nice and dark though. I'm very happy I went with tinted windows.

I don't have a scanner or printer. But,the front piece is just 1 1/2-2" flat aluminum strap bent to conform to the top. There are tabs on the bottom that you bolt to the OEM mounting points in the roof. They use a seal against the body and a seal on top of the front of that strap. Snaps are fastened to this strap to the rear of the upper seal.
The sides are aluminum square tube with three tabs to bolt to OEM mounts. Snaps are fastened along the outside of that tube. You could use aluminum "L" channel and just drill holes at OEM mounting points. That's how my 1st gen Bestop mounted and it just snapped to the windshield frame. I guess that Softopper mounting piece in front is to get around mounting snaps to the body.
Here are the pieces laid out:

Thanks. I'm loving it. I had a job to look at near Harpers Ferry,WVA,right by the Potomac River. So,I went down to the river to cool off. That was day before yesterday. Yesterday was my birthday so me and my gal ran it up on South Mt. to swim at the lake (Greenbriar St Pk). It's been years since I had a soft top and I couldn't wait to run around with the sides rolled up again.
