Watch for the muzzleflash!
Since I haven't kept up too much in here, has anyone done a write up or took a couple snap shots of what's behind the fiberglass panels that are just held on to god knows what with rivets. Im going to have to rebuild mine before next winter, the squeaks are just too much anymore

76zimmer is just about to cut one up. Probably a week or so, i would guess.

Hes going to try and make a hard shade for the top. basically cut everything below the top of the windows off I think. That was the last I heard any way. He just picked up a doner top and then went on vacation.

You blazer runs? I thought it holds down your garage floor down like everybody else on this site.

I have never thought about cutting a top apart.

So what exactly is the frame like? after I remove the rivets from the fiberglass and pull a panel off what can I expect to see? The rear corners squeek really bad from years of hardcore off roading,,, or pot hole driving while hunting, either way I'm way hard core on it.:haha:

I sometimes forget you actually own one, 1/2 top or full vert? :haha:

I cut a full vert one. It is epoxied and stuck all over. There were no removable parts or panels. It is double wall with the part in the very middle being glued together. Rest is hollow.

There is no internal metal skeleton or framework of any kind?
I guess I'll cut up one of the really bad ones I have and see what I can do to best reinforce my good one.

Heck, they are hollow, just drill some holes and foam it.
Couple of cans of Great Stuff, being careful not to let it bulge too much should fix it.
That stuff is sticky as all hell, and should bond the liner to the top and not let it move after it hardens.

I would drill the holes on the inside...............But...... your choice:D
