I'm doing the 52 swap, and I need to get dimensions for the shackles. I plan to keep the stock rear shackle mounting point, and just move the front hanger up more. The easier the better lol...
I have another thread on a different board discussing this too, from my under standing if you move the front hanger forward 2" you can retain the original mount position of the rear shackle, if you go 4" forward then you will need to move the rear postiton forward to correct the vertical shackle angle.
i'm running 7.25 too, although no weight on it yet, everything looks like it will be fine.
kidjethro, i didnt need those funny little spacers you've got on your shackles. Tim's Offroad hooked me up with some Daystar bushings that eliminated the need for them.

You paid for those bushings....I didn't have to pay for those spacers. Got the steel from work. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Free=Best. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif
4 7/8" center to center if you use the factory shackle hanger is enough to keep the spring from hitting the frame. You end up with less flex than the guys that move the shackle hanger though.
I understand why you'd need to change bushing or make shackles with spacers but I never see anyone talk about the front spring eye? Doesn't something need to be done there as well? What's everybody doing?

This is what I did-
1/4" spacers welded onto the inside of the hanger. 1/4" wasn't quite enough really. I think 3/8" spacers would have been perfect. I had to tighten the bolts enought that it bent the hangers in a bit with the 1/4" spacers. /forums/images/graemlins/pimp1.gif
