Looking at an electric fan setup to cool my 496. Never had any cooling problems til I reinstalled my AC, now Im thinking that my lack of a full fan shroud (cant do it with the body lift) is hurting my airflow. Rather than hack a fanshroud, I started looking at electric fans.

Perma-cool I was looking at p/n 19513

Flexalite I was looking at 292, 295, and 298 but I couldnt find an obvious difference between the 3 except for about $100 spread between the 3, what gives with that?

The permacool is rated at like 1300 MORE cfm, but I know some companies rate fans in different ways to make their numbers seem higher, didnt know if anyone knew how permacool and flexalite rate theirs.

Thanks guys.

I ran the flex-a-lite dual 12" fans on my last rig and no overheat issues, i think it was number 210 model without the adjustable relay.

I've used a black magic before - way too small. Make sure you get one that covers all rows. The ford windstar fans are a good alternative.

I had a flexalite flan on the green truck. Towed my blazer to the track with the ac on, on 100 degree days. Never had any over heating problems.

I run the basic flexalite duals as well. No problems with cooling even in the middle of Florida summer.

I run the flex-a-lite dual 13". I think it is the 292. It & a griffen radiator keep my 547 caddy cool.

Have you looked at the Windstar fans?

Not sure what kind of prices you are looking at, but it's been done on these trucks numerous times, so it's a proven install.
