I hate chrome:
it takes to much time to take care of.
it's hard to repair if damaged.
give me some glossy spraypaint, powdercoat, or bedlined metal and I'm happy...
and chrome just looks G_y

Chrome makes your blazer go faster, jump higher, lower times in the quarter mile, It just makes it faster.
Dont forget the impossible to clean timing chain cover, the chrome water pump. What about 21" chrome wheels like on the H2's and Escalades. They must really move out off road. Must improve off road handling. Thats why those people do it right.

I like crome on a late 60's early 70's mussel car, but on my K5 or more updated car, I'd go polished aluminum under the hood. But I would do crome wheels on my 78 Camino.

Yeah, chrome it's so lame and dumb.... /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

I like the look of polished aluminum on bikes, not as deep of a shine as chrome.

cant say that i hate it but i think that its all pretty overrated, chrome covers tend to leak and chrome air cleaners just suck in hot air which is all pretty bad, so..

haha mussle lol, you like seafood ?
:P

There's nothing wrong with some tastefully done chrome. I'm dreading the idea of ditching the chrome bumpers on my 72 for some tube ones but you gotta do what you gotta do.

On second thought I might have to find a way to keep them on.

I like chrome. When done right and not too much stuff is chromed then it looks nice IMHO. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I hate terrorists and I hate John Kerry but I dont have strong feelings one way or another on chrome. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Your right it sucks.......flat black truck is the way for me, rattle can only please /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

I also have an uncanny ability to spot people when they're wheeling into rocks (especially if they have chrome all over). I think it's my subconscious trying to remove all that shiney metal.

After winter I looked at my Chrome wheels. They were in pretty bad shape and I dreaded polishing them up. Then my eyes fell on some cans primer and Black spray paint on my shelf....... I will never have to polish them again /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
My wife came out to my shop after I got done painting them and installed. She said "Wow! your Blazer looks a lot better now."
Maby the bumpers will be next

I hate chrome and I dont want any on my truck. I just truly dislike it on my truck. I like flat black and gray.
And other colors but not chrome. /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

And here I thought you and I had very little in common. Finally a point on which we can agree... /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif

Lets see, on my truggy, I think the only thing I have that is chrome is the lug nuts, and that's just because it came with them. My tow rig... hmmm, must be some chrome somewhere... There's this little insert thing in the bumpers, but that's about it I think. Even when I was into street rods like my '39 coupe I was very much into "smooth lines" and "dechroming" everything. Same for the loaded 72 Chevy truck I had. You never saw chrome or even polished aluminum on my engines or anything else but the wheels. Other than on a 4wd, the wheels just have to have some chrome on them, even if it's just a beauty ring and cap, though poverty caps can look tough on some cars...

chrome gets you laid

girls can see their reflection in it, they cant see it in rattle can...but then again the kind of girls you guys date must be used to not having a mirror

Chrome, polished stainless, billit aluminum, on my 57 chevy street machine " HELL YES"
Chrome on the 90 Blazer project "HELL NO" going w/ black wheels, bumpers, windows, and what ever else I can rattle can. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

I saw a blacked out chevelle once, the guy who bult my truck built it. Was very nice!

He saved money on rechroming parts and put it into the engine....

Chrome can look good, but it's a pain in the ass
