i bought a deeper(2extra quart) B&M pan and am installing it, i can't get the extension thing to work out correctly(seems real loose and hanging there, like the extension could fall out when i hit a bump) and i was wondering if i even need it. i've heard of guys running with out it, can't i just do that???? wouldn't the extra 2quarts of fluid make up for the extra depth of the pan???? any help would be appreciated since it looks like it's about to rain anytime and i wanna get this pan bolted back up. thanks!!!!

It will work w/out the extension. Ideally you want the pick-up to pick-up fro the bottom of the pan. the fluid there is cooler & will not slosh. if your fluid moves away from the pick-up your trans will be toast. My filter is taller than stock, so I don't use an extension. I think that is the best way to go.
