i have been out of the loop for a few years. i searched but didnt learn much. anyone have a list of who is making them currently or have any idea on how hard the install is?

thanks, and its good to be back

LoMax makes a kit for the 205. Don't know of anyone doing the same for the 203, but it may just be that I don't know of them.

I was about to go this direction, but opted not to pay that much money only to go from 2:1 to 3:1 ratio....

I considered a doubler, but the weight, sourcing of parts, and time fabbing crossmembers pushed me to choosing an Atlas II. Plus the fact that I would probably never use just the 2:1 low.

I thought I would make it worth my while....
I chose to go with a 5:1 Atlas II t-case

he already has a doubler, it will be coming out soon for repairs so there is no time like the present to change gears.

Once upon a time, WMS was doing the 3:1 203's but that company is dead. The original owner was still doing these a few years ago but I can't remember the company name he was working under.

Fyi, on the 203 the case had a window cut out and a piece of plate welded over it to gain the needed 1/2" or so of clearance for the gears. The new gear was a combo of the original and another gear cut/welded back together.

Keep in mind if you choose to pursue the 203 option that ORD does not recommend using the 203 in low range while the 205 is in high because there is a chance of breaking the doubler shaft. Just so you know...

well thanks for the info fellas. that is more than i want to spend right now, the truck does what i want it to do now. i think its silly to have two low ranges that are geared the same, but not $1300 silly.
