Hi Guys,

Recently I have noticed my 90 Blazer's 700r4 linkage seems to bind up when I go to put it in park, and have noticed a little bit too much slop (side to side play) when I have it in OD.

So after getting underneath it have noticed that there is play in the BELL CRANK and 2 other linkage pieces..........GM calls these parts ( EQUALIZER LEVER) as well as ( SHIFT LEVER ) and the ( SWIVEL)

Anybody know who makes these parts brand new???

Thanks for any help!

The piece that wears out the most is usually the U shaped lever on the trans. I have a ton of these if you need one PM me your address. The rod where it contacts this lever can be welded on and touched up. The cross shaft has a bushing on the end of it where it goes into the frame pocket that wears out. I have some of those too if you need one.

Let me know what you find. My dads k5 has the same issue it binds and is tough shifting out of park. It wont go down to 1st either. It goes into 2nd but not 1st. We ended up ripping the bolt from one of the levers while in the dunes a few weeks ago.

I may just tell him to buy a winters or art carr shifter. Can't beat those things.

Hi Greg,

I haven't called my local Chevy dealer yet to see about parts availability but looking at GMpartsEast.com I see that the bell crank piece ( U shaped lever) is still available, but the rod that hooks into it is discontinued.
The "swivel" piece is still available also. The problem with GMpartsEast.com is that they don't always keep their website on OEM parts availability updated. And my local dealer typically charges more than what I would pay on line.

I have the plastic bushing's you mentioned, and spring used in the (pocket area)

I'll find out in the next couple days for sure what exactly is still available from GM.

Do you have any of the shift lever pieces that hook into the U shape (bell crank) on the trans?

This says it's good up to 86, I wouldn't think there would be much difference in a 700R4 linkage up through 91, but could be wrong...

That looks like a great idea, I forgot about them selling that, but I wonder why they only list it to 1986??

There should be no difference for 81-91 700R4 linkage in trucks, blazers, suburbans.

Has anybody on here used this LMC linkage set??
