I'm running 15" wheels and don't want to do beadlocks until I destroy my 38.5 SXs...

Then I'll go with a bigger tire and larger wheel so I wont have to grind calipers any more... Beadlocks will go on at that time...

I've thought about doing the self tapper screws on the 15s though...

I did the self tapping screw thing in 1996. I had them on both sides of the rim. I blew the bead mudding and schredded the tire. It was like 40 teeth chewing up the bead. Only happened once to one tire, but tore it up bad. Won't do that again.

Both a friend and myself run 15x8 reverse backspace wheels on 15.5" wide tires. Neither have every blown a bead. He regularly runs single digit air pressures in his 42's on a 6k fullsize truck with a built 460.

I put on a set of Bluey Fab beadlocks on my 16.5" for the simple fact that they were alot cheper than a new set of rims and I had a new set of 42s for them.

8 bolt H1s here.

Interestingly enough I find beadlocks more usefull on extreme sidehills and sand rather than typical wheeling.

I have run both on and off on 16, 17s 16.5s and like having the safety but rarely blew a bead on any of my other non beadlocked wheels.

I actually run my tires at about 8-10 because still steer really well at that pressure much below that steering is just a mild suggestion
