who says boxing in the frame was hard?

It has peaked my interest as of late.....on to the build.

I've been reviewing this thread and see that the boxing is done just inside of the frame "C" channel. This would make fitting the pieces easier, but how much stronger would the boxing kit be with the pieces fitted to the "edge" of the C channel.
Also how much welding needs to be done. Is stitch welding as done above sufficient, or would filling in those stitch welds provide a noticeable improvement?

The only reason I can think of to weld 100% is to keep rust bleed through to a minimum (for those of us not in AZ...)

Ya'all should''a got a look under mine when I got it last year, 3.500 miles, used as a radio truck on Ft. Drum in Watertown, NY Still the factory paint on the frame and brake pads etc. Only rust was floor boards and rockers. A little rougher now after two winters, but still solid, and loud, and cold blooded, and has a few rattles, and the occasional engine rattle that comes and goes, and an alternator that is getting week, and only one wiper speed currently, and a self fabbed rear hitch that ties into the military hitch, and ten bolt axles with a gov-bomb in the rear, and it came with frozen u-joints and axle joints and ball joints, and it has seat covers, door panels and a dash cover and...did I mention the persistant ringing in my ears?

i'm surprised its not rotted to hell in NY
