How many here swap on a set of tires for DD and another for the trail?
I'm thinking this is my answer, just woundering who else has come to this.

Not me.... Too much work and no place to store 4 tires. My storage unit is too full and my ex won't let me keep stuff in her garage. I admit I did think of this a while back but declined not to.

I don't think there are that many people on here who swaps as often, either we go DD on 'em or keep 'em on trail only rigs. When you start swappin' them out long enough, you'll say, screw it and leave 'em on :D

the only time i ever swap tires is to get the rig on the trailer.....i put the steelies on.....once my trailer is widended then i wont have to worry about that anymore...

im supposed to get my buddies 33tsl's and when i get those im plannin on swappin on the tsls wehn i play and just leave my a/ts on for DD.

I drive too much, and play too little to see the point of runnin the swampers on the street...kinda a waste. in my opinion. (to leave em on)

I did when I was running my boggers, and I will again when I get new boggers. It is a pain in the ass, but so is get the old lady to let me spend that kind of money on "truck stuff".:doah:

:haha:

I'm single and too busy workin' six 10 hour days and holdin' a beer in my free time. It's not a pain in the ass if I leave 'em on ..... no old lady to nag me if I do buy another set of swampers ;)

It was my ex who bought them anyway so I don't care as much.:D

If you gotta drive it daily , just get one set of meats that do what you want , and live with tire wear .

Too bad it isn't drier there , I got away with AT's forever in AZ . Now I have a different daily driver ( still roll the Blazer often enough ) , and have to wait for the AT's to wear out before I can get some Iroks .

I have two sets...35" BFG AT's that I run on the street and my 38.5" MT Baja Claws that hang out in the garage...if I ever make it to Oceano I'm taking the Baja Claws to swap on but I do it fairly often for various stuff around town...Its not really that big of a deal to do once you get used to it and running a nice small and narrow AT tire is sooooo worth any hassle it may be to change tires...

As soon as I find a deal on a set I will. I have to change tires to trailer mine anyway so it's really no more work than I have to do anyway. For now I run the Creepy Crawlers for both.

Several guys in our club that have a combination DD/trailrig swap tires. Really aggressive tires such as Swampers rule on the trail around here because of the mud, but obviously suck on the street. It's also cheaper in the long run because a bias Swamper will only last about a year (depending on how many miles of course). Here are the choices as I see it:

1. Run Swampers (or equivalent) all the time, replace them every year on a DD, live with poor street performance but do good on the trail.

2. Run something like a radial BFG mud tire, and compromise both street and trail performance (again, this depends on the local terrain....around here it's always muddy).

3. Run two sets of tires...something like all-terrains for the street, and Swampers or equivalent for the trail. No compromises in performance. The trail tires will last for years, and some radial all-terrains will last at least twice as long as Swampers.
