im looking to do a shakle flip on my 85 k5 and was wondering what you guys would recommend i want to retain my factory reciever hitch also thank you

I have yet to put it on, but my ORD flip is well built. I think it'll fit fine with the hitch. I'll be doing the install in hopefully a week or two, I can let you know for sure if everything fits.

i've put 2 ord shackle flips on & will be doing another this week. installation is straight forward & a great all around product.

I have used both no one builds one like :bow: DIY4x it is awsome work stronger than hell and can cut what ever you would like him to in the webb

I had ORD flips on 2 K5's and both worked fine. I also run some stuff from DIY4X and like his stuff too. I believe either will be fine. FYI Adventurous is a ORD dealer.

FYI, the DIY4X flip interfered with my receiver hitch. It should be a easy fix with a welder, I just haven't gotten to it.

both are nice pieces.. i prefer the shackle style of the DIY4X...

Was the bottom part of the flip tapered? I just received the DIY4X flip kit and the part that attaches to the bottom of the frame is tapered, so it looks like I'll be fine with my hitch. I'm wondering if there was a recent design change.

mine was tapered and didnt interfer with it it just depends if it is the right hitch there was 3 different hitches for the 80's model blazer, sub, pickup

Actually, the tapered bottom happened some time ago. It was done specifically to avoid some hitch issues. It's not something I'm gona say will clear any and all hitches but it should help.

It could have just been my particular hitch. If the hitch mounted in the next hole rearward, it would have been fine.

It is no biggie for me. I never tow, and will probably go with a bumper with a built in hitch eventually anyway.

I installed an ORD flip a few years ago and I had to modify my hitch mounts. My next truck will get a DIY flip. I just wanna see what its like. I know it will be a great product because everything I've bought from DIY has been great.
