Look what happened on my way home :eek1: :doah: . I thought the death wobble was bad. This one tops it. My blazer will be out of comission for a while maybe looking for a new toy....

thats an easy fix. junkyards are full of 10 bolt axles.

looks like an excuse to upgrade.

14FF the rear and never worry about that again. Then again a friend had that happen on his d60 full float rear in a 76 f-250 but that was cause he way tightened the bearings.

Something like that would have scared me last year. BUT now that I've been a bonafide CK5 member for a while, I'd say it looks more like a nice opportunity to upgrade and have a few cold beers.:waytogo:

I'm waiting for someone to pipe up with a "semi float axles ain't that bad!" comment....

Actually its a 12 bolt, but at this point it doesn't matter. I really don't have money or time to throw at it right now. So more than likely I will end up donating it for a tax break or if some local CK5 member wants it for $500 its theirs. Crate motor that has some where around 10,000 + miles, edlebrock intake and carb, 4 inch lift, straight thru exhaust with cherry bombs.

heck I have tons of spares I would donate if you were closer

i would swap the axles. you can get a rear for under $300
Let's not forget the $150-200 for 8-lug wheels to fit the 15" tires.

If you have a source for 15" 8-lug rims for $10 each, you need to go snag them and sell them here. You could make a killing.

check craigslist.org theres complete 14bffs on there for 99 bucks all the time in the bay area!

yes, 8 lug rims cost a little bit... but do they cost more than replacing busted axle parts? In this case it happened on-road. Thankfully nothing bad did happen, but seriously... someone could have been seriously injured, killed, had their car crushed or god knows what else. How much is that worth? You can get used steel wagon-wheel type rims pretty cheap. Craigslist or whatever... they ain't that spendy. Probably cost you less than a tank of gas. Is it THAT big of a deal?
