My 99 K2500 front rotors measure in at 12.5" if that helps. This was measured with the rim on so I could be off a 1/4".

If this is the case, shouldnt I easily be able to slip a pair of 15" wheels over it? THere are so many more deals to be had on 15" tires than on 16" tires.

THought about that too. but if a d60 is "way bigger" and a measurement of the k2500's as being "12.5", Even if the caliper outer diamter added two inches, it would still be smaller than 15".
However, of course, I failed to acutally think about how much the inner diameter of a 15" wheel is /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif.
I gotta go measure that tomorrow.

A Dana 60 caliper has something like a 3 1/4" piston, so if you're talking in terms of caliper size, there is little question.

Keep in mind that saying "IFS 2500" is pretty generalized as I'm sure there are several variations in front brakes offered over the years. My '03 2500HD has maybe 1/8" clearance between the front calipers and the stock 16" rims, so there is no way a 15" rim would fit without a lot of grinding. On the other hand an late-80's 2500 with 6-lug rims could probably fit a 15.....

Good point. Forgot that there were always variances.
I am referring to the 4wd C/K 2500, model year 1992.
im sure they increased brake sizes later on.
