im changing the look of my rig, got the lift off my blazer(thanks subfan !) and i want the street look. i know there are more than a few on here who also have went this route. call me a mall cruiser , lol but its also my daily driver (when its running) lol , and occasionaly the family wagon. so post up pics and mods, anything cool and different. thanks ahead of time.

nice, very nice, do any thing fancy to it, like on the interior or exterior ? i wanna get some of those "mustang" type half moon chromey thingy-ies to put above my fenders and i want a modernized feel of both the outside and inside as much as possible with my 79' rig, lol.

if you want a modernized look for the outide, strip off all the exterior trim and badges, paint your drip mouldings body color. those fender trim pieces will cause it to rust out here in the rust belt.

not to mention those trim things don't add to a modernized look. I'd say pull all the badging and trim, 89+ composite beam grille, sand down the cap and paint it to match.

Yeah yeah, I know, they're all slammed, but I don't think you'll find better workmanship and cleaner lines anywhere else. To each their own.

I dont have any pics of mine. But mine is a 87 K5. No mouldings or badges. Painted 2002 Infinity 3 stage pearl white. 2.5" lift up front 4" in the back sitting on 33" MTRs. The interior is pretty stock except for the 98 yukon power leather seats. It is one of the cleanest K5s I have seen, that is why I bought it

This is about as bling as I get Although there are plans in the works. The wife wants to keep the 33s and I want 2" springs in the front to match the rear. Swapping in a hot 350 with performer intake/carb, headers and all the goodies. Need to replace some body panels. Wife wants it black with ghost flames. Light bar on the roof. Nerf bars on the sides. I have my '79 K5 so this 86 gets built the way she wants.

In addition to stripping the moudling and badges. Shave the handles, drip rails, relocate the tailgate handle, put roll pans (in the rear anyway).

CAN'T POST PICS

I have a 73 burb with nice (read expensive) deep green paint with some silver leaf striping, 4" lift 2" body and 36" P.J. Dirt Grips on Black Steels with blacked out windows.
Looks PIMP. Inside is in progress but for now has LaBaron Turbo power leather seats (still wrong color) and a 1000 Watt stereo. Great DD!!!

So.................

I'm goin the other way like blackin out the Bling grill and ALL other chrome stuff. Tires are throwin rocks and mud on previously mentioned paint so I'm putting bed liner from the top of the wheel well down in black. It will look burly and clean but still be able to bog with out tearin my paint up.

Try to make it look cool without makin it look like a poser
(although most wheeler I don't know think it is a poser)just my $.02 anyway.

And who cares as long as you like it anyway!!!

Yeah as far as I know it was a factory color. The guy I bought it from didnt say anything about a different paint job. Thanks
