Who\'s makes the best shock?

I'm doin a fresh build up on a '89 Jimmy. I'm gonna start w/ a 6" BDS lift and 35's. I've had a Blazer w/ Superlift's "Superide" shocks (Witch I was told by a reputable off-road shop were actually Heckthorn shocks -Skyjacker uses them as well) they were okay, but nothing special. Edlebrock's IAS seem pretty enticing, but I haven't herd anything about them. I'm leaning the hardest towards Rancho RS9000s for their adjustability. Any of you guys (or gals) runnin these? Any input y'all can throw my way would be appreciated.
I'm not interested in any of the remote reservoir type shocks

Do a search bro...we go thru this about once a week....everyone seems to love the 9000's.

I am planning on the Pro Comp 9000 series shocks when I do the long shock conversion.

I second the motion of procomps shock, they are made by rancho and have the same extended length of the 5012's (not adjustible) however in the new 4 wheel parts mag procomp is comming out w/ an adjustible shock(page 72), but my rig is 90%rock and trail.

Rs 9000s...they are best shock around for the money. Ive destroyed doetsch tech shocks...sheered the shafts on em' and had all sorts of leaks. My new 9000s are ajustable... THey have been injured and still do not leak... and ride so well i will never go to another shock until ... coilover suspension is financed.

I beg to differ, i personally would go with the Pro Comp ES3000, they are the largest diamter piston on the market and are one of the cheaper ones too(at least where i am from) i put them on my blazer and they were awesome. before that i had rancho 5000's and they suck compared to the pro comp. That my two cents.

The 9000's have some mixed reviews. Personally I don't like anything they make and avoid them like the plaugue. I'm looking at Blistiens and Trailmaster SSV's.

I have a friend with some Edelbrock IAS shcoks and he LOVES them...he never stops complaining about how harsh my Rancho 5000's are compared to his Edelbrocks... they are a little bit pricier but look sweet...give em a peek

I have RS5000s now....grrrr...when I do the shock upgrade, I am eyeballing the heck out of a set of long-travel ProComp 3000s. Maybe not adjustable...but slightly longer travel than the RS9000...and a LOT cheaper too...

there is an articvle in pertersons 4-wheel&amp; offroad about shocks and testing them for your vehicle. Check it out

I mjust bought a set of the Pro Comp 9000 and they seem to be all right, better than the ones I had to begin with that's for sure! I wanted the Rancho 9000 but I just couldn't justify the cost! Everyone I have talked to seems to like the 9000's.
