im seriously looking into picking one of these up relatively soon and converting it to vegtable oil, im probably gonna hold out for a 12v but if find a nice 24v i might go that way, 4x4 with a 5 or 6 speed for sure, any gripes with your rams?

I have a 98.5 24v. The only thing that is kind of a pain is it is not a double cab, they only made cab and a halfs.

I have had my truck for almost 2 years & 75,000 miles now and am loving it. Just research the typical problems on these trucks and you will be aware of what to look for when buying one.

I've got one, a 2001.

Flat out kicks butt.....

Personally, I'd go auto anyday over a gear rower.

im assuming you have a built transmission with the power your cummins is putting out, who did you go with? and what other modifications have you done with your cummins? i might go with a 24v after driving a 12 valve i dont think it will be putting out enough power, and i dont want to do a bunch of modifications

I have one of each.

I'll give the p7100 pumped 12 valve the hands down reliability win.....

but my 24valve vp44 truck ***when all the electronics in the pump are working properly*** is a sweet ride too...

If I were buying again now.....I'd get a common-rail '03-'06. for sure. frontends are fixed, no crappy electronic injection pump to worry about.....true 4 doors. still a tight fit but bigger than my "quad cab" 1 1/2cab

Yes, I have a modded trans. I went with Suncoast parts. I've got an Edge Hot Juice, big exhaust, and homeade intake.

12v's are way easier and cheaper to make power with, and a ton of it too. Electronic boxes for 24v stuff is somewhat expensive, but are nice with the adjustability. Yes, the 12v is very reliable and easy to make power with but I prefer my 24v as in I can jump power ratings going down the road.

Ive got a 02 and owned it since it was new - love it ! I have had I/P problems but I am still pleased with the truck as a whole package .
