What kind do you have? Did they really make a difference?

I got one mount off eBay, an Energy Suspension mount, for the GM clamshell type and the instructions show to separate the two pieces by drilling out the spot welds.
My question is that if this was a hard job to do? Drilling is easy but its the part of keeping the two metals aligned once the mount is installed and ready to bolt back to the frame. A friend of mine said he had a heck of a time keeping them together. But once the bolts got started with the nuts, he tightened them easily with an impact.

So, anyone else running some and have problems with them?

I am running them with the poly trans mount. No problems As for keeping them together they come with two zip ties.

The only ones I have any experience with are DIY4x's that B_to_C is running. I thought they were nice and simple to install. I plan to run some in my truck when I redo my trans mounts and go to poly bushings.

I wouldn't run poly motor mounts without running poly mounts at the trans too.

yep x2. I have them, and honestly, san't tell a difference with them. Got mine at autozone for like $16 each.

Gotta agre w/ Mrk5
If you mix poly engine w/ rubber trans mounts or vice versa, you will get a busted trans case.

I'm running DIY4x's mounts with poly's at the trans. too. Made a huge difference compared to all the sagged out rubber stuff and not too much noticeable vibration with the stiffer poly stuff. They were pretty easy to install, espcially since I had to replace the engine crossmember at the same time. It cracked in three places and had shifted and tore the holes at the frame from moving around :doah:

Anyone running ones with diesel?
I haven't found any applications for diesels on any of the urethane websites.

I have Energy suspension motor mounts. I just cut those tabs off that stick out of the mount and put it in the factory clamshell deal.

They were supposed to make some sort of difference? I just used them because I made a big Summit order and figured I should get some new mounts.

I can't tell anything special about them. Truck goes down the road the same, don't think I gained any power, my truck gets dirty just as fast as it used to, and my CD player skips on a big bump.:dunno:

I've been runnin' Energy Suspension engine and trans. mounts for about 2 years. I love them. Considering they lifted my engine off of my oil cooler lines.
I have been thinking of the ORD crossmember thou.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with a cracked crossmember. I'd like to get new mounts for the engine and transmission. Anyone have some part numbers???

I am running mine with the 6.2 Diesel. They are the same insert as the 350/400/454 mounts. I will never go back to parts store replacement rubber mounts. I was getting to the point of need to change them every year. Plus when they got covered in oil they seemed to fall apart quiker.

I have Energy Suspension poly engine and trans mount on my K5 with the 6.2 diesel. I forget the details off hand but the engine mounts are the same application as for some other GM trucks.

For keeping the clamshells together, as already mentioned they come with zip-ties to hold the two pieces together while you bolt them in.

Are they transmitting vibrations any differently/more than rubber mounts? That's the only concern I have, because Suburban is going to be my DD also. I'm getting body mounts from ES, so I probably get the engine and tranny mount at the same time.

Does the TH350 and SM465 share the same mount? In 2wd application.

I really could not tell a difference on my truck. But I did notice a difference when I put them on my DD 01 Saturn. With the A/C on I notice a small vibration.

Ok, thanks for the info :thumb: I go to local speedshop tomorrow to pick up a set of D60 brakepads, so I might as well place an order for those :)

I was looking through ES catalog, and found these -> http://www.energysuspension.com/pages/mt_tr8.html and from there complete set (2 motor mounts and 1 trans mount).

I'm looking for 2wd set, and found them, but I'm unsure which one to use, 3.1130 or 3.1128?

Found them from Summit, too, and other than price can't tell the difference?

Ditto. I couldn't tell any difference between the stock rubber mounts and poly mounts on my K5.
