88 k5 with 4 speed fuel injected... 350.... i am wiring a tach into the blazer...

i need to know what wire goes to the dimmer what side of the coil and what color wire is the negative side of the coil as it does not have hei

This lead is the tach lead on a fi chevy, as for the light wire, I just used a test light to find it, and if you want it to dim with the dash lights, make sure you hook it up to a wire that dims the test light.

i cannt see that pic as i havent poined up the cash yet to join..... its all being going to the blazer... what color wire on the coil so i have to tap into?? i was told to hit the white but no dice

Just a word of advice.. Spend the cash it will pay for itself the first time you run into a roadblock that no around can figure out. The knowledge here is incredible, its saved me more than a few times. O ya and the tach wire is located on the coil on your 88k5. Its the wire hanging off the plug that goes into the top of the coil. Its white or tan i belive and have a connector on it that goes to nothing its just there.

I just ran the wire through the firewall and felt around under the cap on the side of the dizzy...then soldered an end on the wire and plugged it in...fired it up and I was good to go...I guess I don't understand what you're asking...

The white wire hanging off the coil is the tach lead. As for dimmer wire get your test light and start probing the wires from the headlight switch until you've found it.

The light wire is grey, there will be one going into the instrument cluster through the big plug, one that goes to the stereo, and one that goes to the AC / Heater controls

Tach wire is the white wire coming off the same connector that the thick pink power wire goes into the coil with. Sometimes it is shoved down some wire loom or something

Is there a dimmer terminal on the fuse panel in the later trucks? I could have sworn at one time I saw one labeled "dimmer" or something like that along the top.

Wish I had seen this yesterday I would have looked more closely at the fuse panel diagram...

Oh, BTW, it is HEI, just computer controlled.
