I have a 32 spline 203 and adaptor but my th400 is for a 241 and has the longer shaft. I could buold a 1" think spacer or I have access to a 203 version th400 so could swap shafts there. I have a 10 spline 205 so would have to find a 32 spline gear for that and machine the bearing right? I would prob do cable shifters too.

Mike, you pretty much have it nailed. You could use your TH400 and the 241 adapter with a little work on the front of the 203, or use a spacer and factory 1" plate, or swap the shaft and use the 1" plate.
The 205 will need a bore job and the big input, no matter what you do.

Some of the Arizona guys are running 10 spline 205's with Gen II doublers and have NOT had the cases bored and don't run the large bearing on the input. There is a bearing available that allows you to use the 32 spline input and also the small bearing. The bearing is about $40 but it is still cheaper then the bore job and the large bearing.

Harley means that we are using 32 spline in stock 27 spline cases. The bearing is a little different in size. I know that the bearing has 70% of the wear/cooling of the normal large 32 spline bearing, and around 80% of the normal 27 spline bearing. The bearing is a few thou thinner than the OE ones and requires a machined spacer. Either way it is the shaft that can break, no the bearing. You still retain the large bearing inside the adapter for the intermidiate shaft obviously.

How much in general should I expect to pay for getting the case bored out for the big bearing? I am going to go ahead and do mine because the front output bearing is shot and so a rebuild is in order anyways.

Looks like I'll be trying out the WMS doulber too, that is too good of a deal to pass on!

I had planned on using my existing NP205 for my doubler setup. After I found out that most shops were going to charge about $800 just for a complete rebuild, then another $100 to have a machine shop enlarge it for the bearing and then the bearing conversion parts were $200 for a total of $1,100 , I opted just to buy one already set up from ORD for $895. If you are rebuilding your own, I would suspect you can get your case machined for around $100 or less. Then you have the kit for $200 and a rebuild kit for everything else for $200. Total if you do it yourself is around $500 or more. But, you have to completely empty out the case so that when the machining is done, you can clean it real good and then completely reassemble it. I decided that my time was worth the money to pay to have it done. I also bought ORD's NP203 rangebox and doubler adapter at the same time.

For another couple hundered you could have had a completely brand new, super stout LowMax 3:1 NP205.

yeah but then you dont have a 2 to 1 or a 4 to 1 ratio. i like the idea of having low and super low, not just 1 gear in between.

I might hold out and do both. Doubler and the LoMax case :D

Put in my order for the WMS doubler today.

That is what I would do. I did the doubler thing a year ago when the 3:1 was still a rumor. I would love that extra middle gear (3:1) and the extra grunt.

79k20 I ment in addition to a doubler. Since you mentioned that a rebuilt one was $800 and a low max 205 is around $1200 and totally new.

Actually, for me the doubler was probably overkill. I don't do a lot of rock crawling. But, I figured what the heck, my Blazer has been almost a 2 yr. project so far, might as well go all out. I went triple stick too. Even though I don't do the Rubicon, it never hurts to have options....

dont do, or wont do? :D

Actually, won't do. I'm not much into sheet metal damage just for the sake of bragging and rock crawling doesn't hold much interest for me. I like to explore. I like to go where most folks don't. The Rubicon is beautiful, but I like the solitude of the desert. Camping with a million other folks doesn't do it for me. Once in a while a big group party is ok, but I prefer solo or a couple of rigs only trips. I also like to be where I can expend large amounts of ammunition without having to run from the rangers.....

Didn't even know that product existed until I saw this post!

Just got on their e-mail notification list so that I'll know when they actually are available for sale....

Hmmm... maybe combine a LoMax 3:1 205 with my WMS 3:1 203???? The mind boggles!! :D

The 9:1 low that would offer would be kinda cool but I believe that having the option of the 3:1 (either lomax or WMS) and a 2:1 would be much more user friendly and practical.

proud new owner so I figured I'd post a picture to throw in the mix.

Mates the range box from an NP 203 to a transfer case of your choice. With a standard 203 you are looking at ~2:1 additional low range, in addtion to your current x-cases reduction.
