Throwing 6.0 in my '87, whose mounts; Dirty Dingo, DIY4x4, Pacific Fab...?

It was that thread that caused me to ask the question.

Dirty Dingo has made some big quality upgrades recently. That being said I went with DIY4X mounts. They are a very nice part, and a supporting vendor. :waytogo:

I do like DIY4x4 mounts but I also like how Pacific Fab makes a whole crossmember but $360?

I dig the whole tna setup personally.

It's an end all be all setup and he is a vendor here.

I'd go with that over someone not on here for the whole shebang.

I end up buying DIY 4x4 LS mounts with poly mounts. Decided to put the other $200 towards a new clutch pack. Cross member can be down the road.

The TNA kit looks nice but $350 right now would kill my already shot budget. I can't believe this year, spent $7k the first 5 years and spent $12k so far this year. Fricken nutz, what's worse is it isn't my only hobby. Thank god for a really understanding wife. :waytogo:

I ended up using diy4x lowers and dirty dingo uppers. I used the factory SBC mounts with the DD at first and had almost zero crossmember clearance. Diy4x fixed that real quick

I used a TNA lower and engine cross member welded up to a set of DIY4x lowers and uppers. Worked out real well for me. Stay away from dirty dingo.

The reason everyone had such issues with Dirty Dingo years ago was because of shotty booger welds. If you look at the way they are built now, they are cut on a plasma table and then bent (instead of welded), to create the "ears" of the upper mount. I have no issue whatsoever with their design/quality and would recommend them to anyone.

and his way of dealing with you when you call him out on his bad crap leaves a lot to be desired . . . . . ask me how I know .

he can go pound salt .

the new design is weaker if you ask me . no triangulation . . . . and if all this work to make brackets bolt to stock truck side mounts why no ear's to hit the 2 tabs on stock clamb shell mounts like oem did . ? ? ?

I hear ya, I had a positive experience with his product so I thought I'd put it out there.
I never realized that the ears were supposed to sit in the tabs on the factory mounts, but I see what you mean. For my application with the DIY lowers this wouldn't have benefited me.
