I unbolted the passanger side exhaust, and between the pipe and the manifold was this do-hicky...

It looks like there is suposed to be some kind of linkage attached to it to open and close the thing /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

yeah it blocks off some of your exaust, its a erg, or choke thing i think cant remember.
some one will chime in.

choke thing. It closes when the rig is cold and forces that sides exhaust throught he egr crossover to the other side exhaust. In the process it makes warm up occur faster. I always remove them, don't trust an old rusty hunk of metal like that to stay open. Sometimes you can sit there and watch it open and close.

you putting factory exaust back on?? it not chuck it, if yes mabey keep it for leanth referance so you could replace it with pipe.

see how far you can throw it into the woods /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Depends, are you puting headers on the rig? Does it seem to be sticky if you try and operate it by hand? If youa re going to reuse the y pipe you may HAVE to keep it. If it operates smoothly its a good little feature.

it would help you warm up faster in the winter by heating up the intake manifold. I would keep it around those run about 200 dollars from LMC

woops sorry, I forgot to say the blazer had dual exhuast...
It doesn't feel stick, where the little thing is for where I thought linkage would attach to, I can move it with that fairly good.

a couple of blurry photographs. /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif

I thought it was a np208. what is the shift pattern for a 205? Maybe thats why it was hard to shift for me. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

It's funny that you pointed that out.. I didn't even pay attention to the part in his hand, I went straight to the drivetrain. Nice piece of iron you've got there Steve... the TH350/205 adapters are getting rare, as are 27 spline 205 cases. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

So, should I keep the np205, and find a np208 to swap in to sell the th-350 with, or what should I do?

Okay thanks!

you wouldn't be able to swap a 208 on the th350, the output shaft is too short, btu you can swap a np203 onto it and sell it or you can just sell the th350 alone.

It's called an EFE valve. It closes during cold starts and forces warmed exhaust air through a crossover in your manifold to help your engine warm up faster.
