Why does almost every .......

I did a "cold air" intake and cat back exhaust on my 97 Silverado and lost in-town power. Taking off from stop sign and such at normal driving was noticably less. Had to get in it just a little more for the same amount of go.
(Tube with a cone filter near the fender is all)

My suburban with the LS swap, had a cai for the diesel it used to have.
But that one has a lid and it pulls air from the fender like the factory would have. So I re used it.

It may be my imagination, but pulling the lid off seems like it feels the same as my 97 did. So I run with it on.

The Volant CAI I put on my 08 tundra was larger tubing, all plastic and rubber, had a gasketed lid, and pulled air from the factory location.
Plus there was an optional tube for more air that went down and pulled it from under the engine bay out of the heat.
That style I'd buy again.
