why is this specific to 90-91 trucks?

Need more info. You can look up and find what was supposed to be on these engines but without more info from the seller I wouldn't buy either one:( DB2 is woefully inadequate info. DB2829 or DB2831 would be better and DBxxxx-xxxx is what you really want to know. Buying one of these and finding out it needs to be recalibrated for your use would quickly eat up any "bargain.":(

Can you post more info? I can't open the links at work.
first one says only that it's for the 90-91 truck and then posts this:

CHEVROLET TRUCK

CONDITION : NEW /8 CYL / STANADYNE DB2

Customer is responsible for interchange (i.e. making sure this is the right part for the vehicle they are working on). Please ask any interchange question BEFORE purchase.

that's all the info they list, plus the price which is less than $200 for either one...

I asked the seller for the complete part # (DB2xxxx-xxxx) on the one listed for 90-91 and got 69-8165 which I would guess may be DB2x69-8165.

Vacuum line?

If you need a new IP got to www.accuratediesel.com

Find the contact info and call em up. I got mine from there a few years back and they did a great job at an outstanding price. Great customer service too. The guy I dealt with was Tim.

Too bad the guy doesn't know what he's talking about or he at least made a mistake.

DB2829 = "DB2" is a model or type. "8" is for 8 cylinder and the last two numbers are for a internal valve size in mm. It's going to be either 29 or 31. So the correct IP will be labeled DB2829 or DB2831. If you are going to put this on a stock 6.2 / non-turbo 6.5 the DB2829 will be fine. If you plan on modding for power or have a Turbo 6.5 it's better to go with the DB2831 as it will pump more fuel.

The last 4 numbers are a calibration or set-up designation. I can't help you there. I can say for my 6.5 turbo build it was suggested I use a 4911. So my IP is a DB2931-4911
