why not to buy discount tools

i got one from the swap meet for 10 bucks and had it for 2 years with no problems.cant beet the price if it does blow up eventually.i dont think it even has a brand name on it.lol /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
 
My $17 HF 4.5" grinder has been doing fine for the last 2 years. I've basically built my truck with it. Been through approximately 35 1/4" grinding wheels (I'm on my 4th box of 10) and 17 cutting wheels (second pack almost gone). I guess this is a YMMV...
 
I swear by my Milwaukee. It has a 8 amp motor and it is difficult to bog it down. I know a guy who buys them, takes the guard off, and runs 9" wheels on them. They last him over a year of all day every day abuse in his fab shop.
 
I used a Porter Cable sawzall to cut the large lip off, and then my Milwaukee 4" grinder to smooth it all out. Took about an hour or so, I gave the tools frequent rests and kept oil on the sawzall blades. Looks good!
 
I have a Dewalt grinder....bought it for $40..

Makita 4". i am meaner to my tools than I am too n00bs and it still works fine. same with my Milwaklie (sp?) 3/4" drill. thing has nearly snapped my wrist and I am not niceto it at all.
