i know when i gun it or first in the morning when its choking, the oil pressure is like at 50-60lbs. then when i kick it down...settles to like 30lbs. why is it staying high now? clogged oil pump? thnx

First cold startup, pressure will run high until oil warms up.

What weight oil are you runnning?

i run synth blend (not sure weight) with a can of Restore. u think just cause oil cold? it has been pretty nippy for the past few days. like 40's overnight?

Every motor I've ever owned or driven does the same thing. Never really thought twice about it. The oil has higher viscosity when it's cold.

change out the oil pressure sending unit, i'll bet the gauge reads different.

Mine used to read high all the time when i first got it, then switched it out due to a different problem then it always read around the 45-50 mark.

alittle higher now with the 10/30 full synthetic, but not abnormal.
