Why on earth do aluminum heads disqualify your rig from even a fartin' contest?

And I'm really getting upset by this. Okay, I know it was my choice to build a 383 with aluminum heads, but I'm starting to get really

because I'm finding that it's almost impossible for me to compete in any type of MUD BOG event. My aluminum heads disqualify me either automatically or I don't fit in the stock class. Further, since I don't have a cage, I can't even play in the modified bracket! How un-American!

I swear that this is another

conspiracy!

Okay, well, maybe not....

Someone help a bru-tha out!

You know (and knew previous to the motor build I assume) the rules. Its your job to build your truck to compete by their rules, not the other way around.

Yeah, good point.
Which came first; the truck build or the competing aspect?

When I built my race car to run the Nevada Open Road Challenge I made damn sure i was within the build-specs of my class (unlimited). I was on the phone a thousand times with questions to make double sure.

Goodluck, brother :D !

ditto...plus with the truck you are building after your skills progress you'd be bored in the stock classes...you'll have the rig to handle it so just build a cage and go get beat on in the modified class for a while then work yourself up...

I'd ask the organizers of the event. Doesn't the sanctioning body have a web site?:D

Oh wait, I forgot to make a suggestion that'll cost money. Have a custom bling bling cage built and completely rebuild your engine. Why do you want aluminum heads anyway?:confused: You'll put your eye out!:doah::rolleyes:

:haha::haha:

I love aluminum heads, it's just soooo sexy! :wink1:

Manny, just put a badarse cage in that thing and step it up...... You're already dumping big bucks into alot of other stuff.. Cage on a p-up is simple and MANLY.. :haha:

I had no clue! I didn't starting looking into it, until after my build. I've never competed in a sanctioned mud bog before.

What came first? Truck build....had no clue... Well, looks like a cage is comin'! :eek1:

I didn't think about any type of competitions until well after the engine was being built. Like I said earlier, I've never competed in a sanctioned bog before.

I used to have problems with this, I would race my samurai just for fun, I knew I wasn't going to win anything. Pretty much everywhere I raced they put me in either super stock (lots of big block trucks in here) because I had a header, or mud modified(these guys all had big blocks and stripped down trucks). They put me in mud modified when I put a traction bar on. Thats when I quit racing. The told me the traction bar gave me an unfair advantage over the other super stock guys :haha::haha::haha::haha: . Yah so does my 75 hp motor.

I don't know about you guys but locally here they made the rules up about 25 years ago when 35s were big. Now if you run 40s or bigger you run with the rails. kind of stupid

Manny alum heads were never an option for that motor. So no alum heads. But if you remove the heads and have them metallized on the outside and then squirt them with a salt water solution they will rust. The metallizing compuond is iron based so it is also somewhat magnetic. I wouldn't do that because its cheating......but lots of dirt trackers do this to intake manifolds to pass tech inspections.:wink1:

I use to do that all the time. We didnt call it cheating we called it "being Creative" The rule said a magnet must stick to the head, and it would.

Why not go with World Products Sportsman II heads? They flow just as good, if not better, than aluminum heads.

Cannt do that. They stick a magnet to them.
Have them flame-sprayed with iron. And then leave them raw so they'll rust too.:D :D
