Why won\'t my heater work?????? Please help

I just replaced my heater core and thermostat in my 85 k-10. The blower functions great but all it blows out is cool air. What else could i replace or fix to get this thing to blow hot?????

check and make sure the hot cold cable is opening and closing the vent right

If your heater hoses aren't hooked up right you won't get any hot air.

i only have 2 heater hoses right? I tried switching them around on the heater core but either way no heat!

Run your blazer for a while and make sure your heater hoses are getting warm(yes 2), if they are than you probably have a problem with your slide switch from hot to cold....if you remove the glovebox you can see it right behind where you took the glove box from. Sometimes you will see the slide moving but that wont actually be turning the bar its hooked up to..(thats my problem) I took a pair of plyers and just manully cranked mine back and forth a few times and it freed it up, then rehooked the linkage back to it. It works great now...I'm sure I just confused you, I confused myself when I tried to read this but its the best I know to explain it...Good luck

Is your radiator full of coolant? The heater blows cold right before the engine siezes (don't ask) /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Remove the radiator cap, fire up the engine and let it run till it gets warm. You more than likely have an air lock in the system. You have to bleed it off. Just let the engine run for about half an hour or so with no cap. You may get a volcanoe of water from the radiator, that is okay, that just means the air lock let loose.

It was the hot and cold cable just like you said it probably was! The cable wasn't attached to anything, so in turn it wasn't working. Thanks you the man!!!
