Why would an 89 TBI run rich? Just looking for out loud thinking...

It is *NOT* the O2 sensor causing your problems, although after running rich for so long I'm sure it's toast. It's not the CTS, TPS, etc. It's a bad injector, plugged fuel return line, or a bad MAP sensor. It could even be a pinched wire that is shorting out. If it's the ECM/calpak scanning the truck would tell you this. Does it give any codes off?
